Student Filmmakers Competition

This month Amy Tsilemanis and Julian Potter will be holding two Masterclasses for young filmmakers as part of the Buninyong Film Festival Student Film Competition.

The theme for films is Buninyong/Ballarat Past, Present or Future. In the masterclasses Amy & Julian will be exploring both storytelling and technique. Spaces are limited so please rsvp by emailing a.tsilemanis@gmail.com with some information about yourself/child: age & device most likely to use (phone, ipad, etc)

Primary School Students

  • Venue: Emmaus Catholic Primary School, Mount Clear

Secondary School Students

  • Venue: Ballarat Library, 178 Doveton Street North, Ballarat
  • Date: Friday 20 March 2015
  • Time: 6.00pm to 8.00pm

Amy is a cross-artform practitioner and producer currently making works across photography, film, radio and web. She loves a good story and finding the best way to tell it. Julian studied Audio Visual Technology at RMIT and has since worked on indie film sets, theatre shows and corporate events. He loves cinema and animation and is currently a postgraduate student in Sociology. They can’t wait to get creative with these budding young artists!

Film Screening Afternoon

On Sunday February 15th, an afternoon film screening of Amy’s work will take place at Mitchell Harris Wines Ballarat between 3 & 5pm.

The event will feature film and photography that documents and is inspired by the 37º 48′ S: artists navigate MELBOURNE project including a new collaboration with sound designer and musician Emah Fox. There will also be live music from the fabulous Mick Trembath and delicious snacks catered by Mitchell Harris.
